Sustainability and ethics

Our range of products are ethically produced in Melbourne, Australia.

A portion of the pieces are handmade in a one woman studio, the remaining portion are produced at a small, local manufacturer in Melbourne.

The most sustainable way to participate in fashion is to only buy what you need, or to invest in quality items you will keep forever. In creating our products a key focus is on ethics and sustainability, this is why a majority of the products are minimal and designed for long lasting comfort. Offering comfortable basics means you are more likely to reach for these pieces everyday.

We source our materials from Australian owned companies with a similar focus on longevity. They provide environmentally conscious fabrics from ethical and sustainable manufacturers, and give a new life to offcuts/ dead-stock which would otherwise be sent to landfill.

Dead-stock fabric is unwanted fabric that has been discarded due to order errors or change of mind. Masses of dead stock materials are produced and are in perfect condition. We don’t want this fabric to be made in vain so it’s turned into functional clothing and saved from landfill.

We also offer a range of products made from bamboo, sourced from a company based in QLD, Australia. Bamboo is a naturally renewable material that can grow up to 4 feet per day. It has the ability to absorb 35% more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than a tree of the same size.

All fabric scraps are repurposed or recycled. The small offcuts are used to make the size labels for the ‘Tash’ undies. Anything remaining, is kept and sent to the company ‘Upparel’ where they are recycled into insulation or mattress stuffing. See their website for more details.

Our one of a kind pieces are handmade from deconstructed garments and fabrics from op shops and donations, giving a new life to unwanted clothing.

All packaging used is from 'Noissue' and is either certified home compostable or 100% recycled and uses plant based inks. A tree is planted by the company for each order placed to offset the shipping.
